ONTRACK: SYSTEM FOR MONITORING VITAL SIGNS AND PROMOTING HEALTHY HABITS
The objective of the project is to develop a system for monitoring physiological variables, which is also capable of generating warnings when a variable exceeds certain thresholds. The system will be able to estimate whether or not there is activity and learn about the user's habits in order to provide recommendations for improving the user's lifestyle, with the associated health improvement benefits that this can bring.
The sensor system with its wireless communication will consist of a miniaturized hardware and integrated in a bracelet (to make it comfortable and easy to wear) and will communicate wirelessly with a smart phone (Android and iOS type). The bracelet will be able to measure the following variables in real time:
- Physiological: heart rhythm and its variability, oximetry, respiratory rhythm (indirect estimation from the heart rhythm), temperature and resistivity of the skin.
- Activity / lifestyle
- Measurement of user activity/rest.
Falls / accidents.
Regularity of schedules and quality of sleep.
A mobile application developed in the project will allow the storage and local visualization of the data collected to be consulted immediately, at least the most recent. This data will also be sent to a web server, when there is an Internet connection, so that they can be consulted from any browser.
