SMART LOCK PROJECT
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF A CAPACITIVE SENSING SYSTEM EMBEDDED IN LOCK AS AN ELEMENT OF PREVENTIVE AND ACTIVE INTRUSION DETECTION.
The purpose of the project is the design of a functional prototype showcasing MC technology applied to the locks sector, to include in these the main characteristics of the CMF technology (preventive detection, discrimination between people, animals and objects, and the functionality 'always-on' or 'always active').
The Smart Lock project aims to establish the technological basis for the subsequent design and development of an electronic lock, in conjunction with our partner ASSA ABLOY, which will become the first lock with a security system based on controlled magnetic fields in the market. This new lock will have a series of technological innovations that will differentiate it from the competition, amongst them the main innovation derived from the results of this project:
The only market lock with sensor based on controlled magnetic fields and with its main characteristics:
- Preventive detection
- Discriminative detection
- Always active detection
This project will investigate the different topologies, operating ranges, sensitivity, power consumption, noise, work frequency, and ultimately all those features that will allow the system to detect the presence of people with total reliability, and an electronic system will be developed entailing processing and communications that allow us to host the detection algorithms and the sending of the information to a central data acquisition system.
On the other hand, different techniques of Energy Harvesting will be studied that help to prolong the autonomy of the batteries and allow a lower number of recharges or change of batteries for the end user.
